This Pro-D Anemometer measures Wind Speed and wind direction when connected to a wind speed data logger like the new WindLogger, WindTracker or our GSM systems.
Pro-D Anemometer comes with wind speed sensor, wind vane and fixings for a 2" pipe (you need to provide wind mast only), 13 meters cable and accessories for installation.

A four-pole magnet induces a sine wave voltage into a coil producing an output signal with frequency proportional to wind speed. The #40C is constructed of rugged Lexan cups molded in one piece for repeatable performance. A rubber terminal boot is included.
This anemometer is often used for wind resource assessment for wind turbines, they are 1% accuracy and have a resolution better than 0.1m/s to match the IEC-61400-12 standards for wind measurement and wind turbine performance analysis.

This vane is directly connected to a precision conductive plastic potentiometer located in the main body. An analog voltage output directly proportional to the wind direction is produced when a constant DC excitation voltage is applied to the potentiometer. A rubber terminal boot is included.

Special characteristics are minimal over-speeding, low starting value and according to Accuwind (testreport1), probably one the best sensors in the market when it comes to measuring wind speed.
